21st Birthday Party

Last night while out with friends I met a girl who was celebrating her 21st birthday. She was "tired" and no one was buying her shots and she was playing on her phone. A LOT.

For about 30 seconds I tried to explain to her how this could be GREAT. How she should be taking advantage of turning 21, it only happens once, no more I.D. pass backs, no more asking older friends to buy alcohol, etc., etc.

I told her I regretted how I celebrated my 21st birthday celebration (I ate two boxes of movie chocolate while watching Devil Wears Prada and then got two cocktails at a bar and went to bed early).

It was at this point I realized what I have to do.

I need a 21st birthday re-do.

So here is the plan.

I want to wear a tiara that says birthday girl on it. I want to take chocolate cake shots and apple pie sparkler shots and have strangers sing happy birthday to me while I blow out 21 candles.

For now though I have to do laundry while I further my plans for a 21st Birthday Party Extravaganza.

The Time my Brain Melted

In 9th grade I was enrolled in Regents Earth Science. We sat at black desks that you could write on with the grease of your hands and then it would disappear. Every Wednesday would be a lab day which meant instead of being 43 minutes the class would be twice as long. I do not like how my life used to be scheduled in to 43 increments of boredom.

Earth science was the worst class in the entire World. It is my hell. It is my Room 101.

I remember on one particular lab day, we hadn't gotten a break due to my lab partner who had thrown all the teacher's pencils in the ceiling, this was the day my brain melted. It was just the beginning of the second period so I knew relief in the form of art class was not coming anytime soon. On and on and on and I was just watching the clock when my mind stopped thinking completely. It literally stopped working and I had nothing but used thoughts and hope to get me through.

Now anytime I am ever really really super bored, I just think back to that day and know that soon it will be o.k. and I won't be bored anymore. I know that if I made it through that I can make it through anything boring for the rest of my life.

Beauty Segment

On most days I do not wash my hair. It is very fluffy when it is clean and straightening it takes forever.

Today's beauty segment is how to still look o.k. with unwashed hair. A few options:

1. Put a hat on.
2. Wear hair in a pony tail.
3. Go to a dark bar where everyone has had a couple of drinks.

I think tonight my hair is so dirty I have to do all three. Especially the last one.

Who would inspire me to restart my blog?

George Michael

I always thought this song was sang by a woman and then I watched the video. Whatastud.

Since I am blogging again I decided to make it more legit and learn more about today's post. This is the best thing I read about him on Wikipedia (where almost all of my research is conducted):

On December 5, 2009, in an interview with The Guardian, Michael explains he had cut back on cannabis and now smokes only 'seven or eight' spliffs per day instead of the 25 he used to smoke.

I really like his Club Tropicana song too.

fine arts and crafts and more

This week PK and I began our Upstate New York Tour 2010.

We went to Buffalo and learned how to make fudge and saw a baby.

We went to Niagara Falls and ate ice cream and went on the Maid of the Mist.
Someone last night said "OH I bet it was so romantic. Niagara Falls is the most romantic place in the world"

Not when your with your boyfriend's parents.
Not when your wearing a XXL Poncho.

The tour continued. Yesterday we went to Watkins Glen and drove across the state.

Watkins Glen was awesome awesome awesome.

I tried to steal a lighter from a gas station but the attendant said that wasn't ok.
I tried to tell Phil all oldies music sounded the same he told me to "take it back"

I learned how much I hate windmills.

Today we were going to go to storm king but its a little bit expensive and so we are going to make our own sculptures in the front yard.

So now we are back in New Paltz. Tomorrow is the Disco Ball

and then next week the tour continues in Albany

Time to go prepare for sculpture making (this means make an afternoon cocktail)

Dear AZ

Dear Anthony Z.,

Are you really done with your freshman year? The last time I saw you was a little bit strange. Your friend was nice but she kept telling Phil to play Ben Folds Five.

Also I like your profile picture.

Also I have nice thoughts when I think about you visiting me in Brooklyn. You and Gracie and me can go to the park and I can show you the hula hoop tricks I am not that good at.

You can talk about how trendy you are.

Love,

Annie

P.S. love your profile picture.
